UNBANNED

In response to the exclusion of artists from certain nationalities by NFT marketplaces, I chose to develop an independent platform guided by my own curatorial vision and values, creating space for artists who had been unfairly prevented from exhibiting or selling their work due to their country of origin.

I became a one-person agency, registered my own company, and developed a project that would bring an exhibition of over thirty artists from the Middle East, Africa, the Eurasia region, and Latin America, completely free for five days to the public of Manchester, UK.

I led the full delivery of the exhibition, overseeing all aspects from curatorial development and exhibition design to visual identity, digital platforms, ticketing, branding, and audience communications. Alongside this, I managed partnership development, sponsorship acquisition, and close coordination with venue staff to ensure smooth on-site delivery.

I secured £50,000 in external sponsorship from the Dubai-based venture studio Bedu.io through its Bedu World initiative (2117), and established key partnerships with Canvas Manchester as the exhibition venue and JoynXYZ as the digital submission platform for artists. The exhibition programme included a public panel event co-hosted with a Liverpool-based NFT public relations agency, bringing together industry figures such as Fitzy and Dr Frances Liddell for a live discussion during one of the exhibition’s open days.

The opening event featured live DJ sets by Manchester-based artist Numan and a performance by acclaimed visual artist Sean Webster (The Pals Universe), contributing to a dynamic public launch and strong audience engagement.

The exhibition centred on showcasing the work of emerging artists who had been excluded from NFT marketplaces due to their nationality, while also serving as an accessible introduction to digital and NFT art for audiences unfamiliar with Web3 technologies. Through its curatorial framing and public programme, the exhibition aimed to foster understanding, dialogue, and critical engagement around emerging digital practices.

The five-day public programme allowed visitors to engage with the exhibition at their own pace and attend scheduled panel discussions and evening events. The exhibition attracted a diverse audience, including strong participation from students at the School of Digital Arts, contributing to meaningful knowledge exchange and making it one of the most impactful and rewarding projects of my career.

DIGITAL
NATIVES

This exhibition formed a key early programme within a broader branding and community engagement strategy for NFT marketplace KnownOrigin, aimed at strengthening relationships between the platform, its artist community, and the wider Web3 ecosystem. The project combined exhibition and live event programming to position the marketplace as an active cultural convenor rather than solely a digital platform.

Delivered as a one-night exhibition and public event, the programme featured established digital artists such as XCOPY alongside emerging practitioners, creating a dialogue between different stages of artistic practice and attracting a mixed audience of artists, collectors, and industry professionals.

Alongside overseeing the organisation of the project, I curated the exhibition, secured sponsorship from Web3 organisations including Wert.io and Async Art, and established a partnership with digital fashion retailer DressX to deliver an audience-facing activation as part of the public programme. The project involved managing multiple stakeholders and delivering a complex, high-profile event within a fast-paced and emerging cultural sector.

VIRTUAL EVENTS:

CULT COUTURE

As part of the inaugural Metaverse Fashion Week, I curated and delivered a digital fashion exhibition for KO’s gallery within Decentraland. The project required a strong emphasis on creative direction and digital spatial design, adapting exhibition-making principles to a virtual environment.

I developed the curatorial and spatial concept for a multi-level exhibition environment, incorporating runway elements, live DJ sets curated in collaboration with Eclectic Method’s DJ cohort, and immersive social spaces. The concept was realised in collaboration with an in-house metaverse builder.

I led promotional activity and press outreach for the event, resulting in coverage in Vogue Business. The exhibition featured work by leading digital fashion designers including Charli Cohen, James Mack, Nikolai Peretiatko, Soze, Midwest Misfit, and others.

METABOREALIS

As part of Decentraland Art Week—a Venice Biennale–inspired digital art fair—I served as Creative Director and lead organiser for KO’s installation. The project responded to the broader cultural and economic context of the digital art sector in 2022, using the concept of “Crypto Winter” as a curatorial framework to explore themes of disruption, resilience, and renewal.

I developed the creative and spatial vision for the installation, incorporating immersive environmental elements and interactive design to encourage active audience participation rather than passive viewing. The concept was realised in collaboration with an in-house metaverse builder, translating the curatorial narrative into a fully realised digital environment.

The resulting installation functioned as both an artistic statement and an engaging public experience, foregrounding interactivity and storytelling while showcasing the work of multiple contributing artists.

Building on the “Crypto Winter” curatorial framework, I commissioned digital fashion designer Midwest Misfit to create a Decentraland wearable as part of an interactive, gamified audience experience. Visitors engaged with the installation by completing a digital trail and collecting in-world tokens, which enabled them to unlock and claim the commissioned garment, reinforcing the exhibition’s narrative while encouraging active participation.

This project concluded my work with KO and resulted in international press coverage, including Vogue Singapore, which described the installation as “one of the most visually stunning immersive exhibitions” presented during the year.

OTHER WORKS

I have organised and curated exhibitions, brand activations, and installations across London, Manchester, Miami, and New York City. My work has included collaborations with organisations such as Decentraland, Boson Protocol, Manchester’s Finest, LIFE, and The Graph. A selection of these projects is showcased in the images below, with additional details available by clicking on them.

I take pride in the work I do and the outcomes I achieve. Equally important, these experiences have been shaped by the incredible people I’ve collaborated with — from artists, designers, and entrepreneurs, to A/V teams, caterers, and performers. Their creativity, expertise, and support have been essential in bringing these projects to life.
